IN THE SHOP: KELLY KETTLE
These camping kettles are just as useful out in the wild as in a city park or backyard. A fire is built in the bottom chamber using whatever small burnable material is available. The heat, smoke and flames travel up the chimney and out the top of the kettle. You can quickly boil water, toast a marshmallow or if your fire is fierce, roast a hotdog.
The first kelly kettle was made by an Irish fisherman in the 1890s to make his afternoon tea. Soon all of his fishing pals wanted one too and he stepped up production in his shed. Today the company is managed by the descendants of that fisherman.
Kelly Kettles are in the shop now.
